Chris Forbes brings the laughs to Edinburgh and Glasgow in support of Hearts & Minds
Award-winning comedian and Clowndoctor Ambassador Chris Forbes is calling on comedy fans to join him once again for two special stand-up fundraiser gigs in Edinburgh and Glasgow, raising vital funds for Hearts & Minds’ Clowndoctors.
Following on from last year’s sell-out Edinburgh gig, these two special stand-up comedy sessions at The Stand Comedy Club will raise vital funds for the Clowndoctors that bring laughter, connection and moments of joy to children, families and healthcare staff.
The comedy gigs will take place at The Stand Comedy Club in Edinburgh on Saturday 19 September, followed by Glasgow on Saturday 24 October, both at 4pm, bringing audiences together for a couple of hours of live comedy while supporting the charity’s unique work helping children and families across Scotland.
Chris is joined at the Edinburgh event by Robin Grainger, Sophie McCabe and Krystal Evans, with Jo Caulfield headlining the afternoon.
Sophie returns to the fundraiser after performing at last year’s event, with a connection to Hearts & Minds that goes beyond the comedy stage. While working at Edinburgh’s Oaklands School, where the Clowndoctors visit weekly, she saw first-hand the impact their work can have on children and young people.
"I’m absolutely honoured and delighted to be an ambassador for Hearts & Minds. Having seen the incredible work of the Clowndoctors first-hand, I know just how joyous, uplifting and vitally important their work is for children and families in hospital."
"I’m so pleased and excited to be involved in supporting the two stand-up comedy fundraiser gigs at The Stand Comedy Club. It’s fantastic to be able to combine the joy of live comedy with raising money and awareness for such a brilliant charity. I can’t wait to see everyone there and help support the wonderful work Hearts & Minds do every day."
— Chris Forbes, Comedian & Hearts & Minds Ambassador (Winner of the McTavish Award, Edinburgh Festival Fringe)
These special comedy events will give audiences the chance to enjoy an afternoon of laughter as they enjoy top-class entertainment that supports the charity.
For more than 25 years, the Clowndoctors have been bringing specialist healthcare clowning to hospitals across Scotland. Today, they deliver more than 3,600 interactions every year, with 1 in 100 children seeing the Clowndoctors.
We want more children to enjoy visits from the Clowndoctors. Every ticket sold will help support the Clowndoctors to visit more children in hospital in Scotland.
